Transferable Solar Credit Option

Great tip and suggestion from your colleague, Rachel Louchen of Compass MA regarding a seller’s solar credits.  She wrote as both a REALTOR and on behalf of her position on the development committee for Berkshire South’s fantastic community program.  Her words: “Recently, a longtime resident sold their house and moved out of state. They discovered their stored solar credits were not transferable due to their relocation, so they generously donated all their credits to Berkshire South. This donation was extremely helpful, as we rely on solar power and our largest monthly expense is electricity.  Many clients moving out of state may have solar panels and aren’t aware their credits can’t be transferred or simply don’t want them. If you know clients in this situation, we would greatly appreciate your recommendation to donate their credits to Berkshire South.  If anyone is interested in donating their solar credits, please contact me and I’ll be happy to assist with the process. Thank you very much.”

If you’d like to research / learn more, you can find a quick utility form, where you can redirect a percentage of your unused credits to help them reduce operating costs and expand programs for the Berkshire community. Or, reach out to Rachel @ rachel.louchen@compass.com or cell 860-307-6114.
