The Board Office will be closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Annually, Berkshire Community College hosts a MLK event with the NAACP, and this year in addition to the breakfast and tribute, they had added several ways we can honor his legacy with community service opportunities throughout the day in Pittsfield. The theme is “Mission Possible 2: Building Community, Uniting a Nation the Nonviolent Way” Very impactful. Full details in the link.
In memory of the strides and sacrifices made by Martin Luther King, Jr., maybe you will find inspiration in his words:
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny”.
“The time is always right to do right”.
“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend”.
“We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools”.
“Violence never brings permanent peace”.
“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase”.
“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward”.
“Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope”.
