Volunteers Sought for Key Positions

Congratulations to two of our REALTORS who volunteered their expertise to the City of Pittsfield last month.  The City welcomes REALTOR (and President elect) Katie Soules of William Raveis Real Estate as an associate member of the Pittsfield Community Development Board.  They will also be swearing in Renee Lander-Aitken of Bishop West Real Estate to the Zoning Board as an associate member, with current Board member Cory Evangelisto of Nocher Realty.   The City has also reached out for nominations to a new Pittsfield Historical Committee looking on and around Park square for an overly district.  Interested? Please reach out to Sandy

  • Benefits of REALTOR involvement on municipal boards
    • Professional expertise add value to the discussion
    • Valuable training opportunities on Leadership
    • Direct impact on real estate regulations and development

Also, the Housing Advocacy and Outreach Committee is hard at work revitalizing the Town Monitor Program.  New volunteers are stepping up to serve on the REALTOR group in community outreach and now have more support than ever. Not only is there support from staff and leadership, Jessie Downer Chair of the Housing Advocacy Committee has appointed regional liaisons to work with and empower local service.  We thank Mary Jane White in central Berkshire, Peter West in north Berkshire and Eric Steuernagle in south Berkshire to coordinate efforts.

Additionally, we are seeking volunteers to serve as an SPC – A State Political Coordinator, serving as a connection between our state legislators and the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS.  John Barrett, Tricia Farley Bouvier and Leah Davis are the representatives serving in the state house and Paul Mark in the senate.  If you have a connection and / or would like to learn more about this service before reaching out, please check out the information  if you think it’s something you’d consider, reach out to Sandy for the application and process for applying.
