Invest in Yourself: Safety First

New agent, seasoned, broker-owner, associate, office manager – whether you’ve been in the business for a day or for a decade it’s easy to get into a grove of daily routine and get complacent.  Putting safety measures into effect can feel cumbersome and eat up your valuable time but your top priority should be the safety of your associates, your clients and equally as important, you!  September is REALTOR Safety Month and its the perfect time to establish or renew your safety plan(s).

The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) has created some perfect tools to assist.  Start with their short, self-assessment quiz to see where you need to concentrate your energies: REALTOR® Safety Quiz (nar.realtor).

Then:

  1. Plan Your Safety Strategy
  2. Tips and Best Practices
  3. Training Videos
  4. Personal Protection Resources
  5. Take the REALTOR® Safety Pledge

Another great resource is NAR’s Putting REALTOR® Safety First: Safety Strategies for the Modern REALTOR manual:  safety-v2-0-student-manual-2021-09-07.pdf (nar.realtor)
