Renewal Requirements

 

Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers made changes to the Continuing Education Requirement for Licensure of Brokers and Salespeople that took effect January 1, 2001.The requirement for Massachusetts Real Estate Brokers and Salespeople continues to be twelve hours of continuing education credits (CEU) to maintain an active license.  The education must be completed within the twenty-four month period preceding their scheduled renewal date in order to renew as Active and practice real estate.There is no exam for CEU courses. The new curriculum consists of thirty three modules. Each of these modules is two hours long. Real estate licensees, who wish to practice, must complete any six of the thirty three modules for a total of twelve (12) hours to renew their real estate license for two years. Materials provided as part of the curriculum should only be used for study purposes and should not be disseminated to the general public. This curriculum is designed for real estate brokers and salespeople to enhance their knowledge base of topics beneficial to the protection of the consumer.
