Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Fair Housing

As we wrap up Fair Housing month our work isn’t done.  We must live it every day.  Under the leadership of chairman Jose Larios, we would like to share the work being done by the Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Fair Housing Committee so far this year.  Here are the goals, and three ways you can participate today!

  • 2024 Goals:
    • Ask every office to take 5 minutes on their office agenda for Fair Housing Field Guide Conversations
    • Help us compile a GoogleDoc of Professional Resources for consumers regarding homeownership.  Educators, vendors, interpreters, specialized service providers to ensure equitable access to housing resources for all those who seek it.  These suggestions will be vetted and become a part of a new website for Berkshire Homeownership For All
    • Create an education campaign – looking at our brand and access to housing – to be shared with HR departments and beyond.
    • Lobby local reps for Diversity Legislation
    • Interact with REALTOR Community Service for help with agency resources
    • Offer an SRES designation later in the year
    • We welcome new committee members – This group is open to all REALTORS and Affiliates! We are also adding well informed community voices as honorary committee participants to ensure we meet the needs of all seeking homeownership.
