Comparable Sale Reporting for FSBOs

The MLS Board of Directors made a change to help all REALTORS have access to the best comparable sales, including information for transactions that did not occur in the MLS.  The vote was as follows:  “Motion to establish a policy that an agent can enter a listing and report it as sold under their own name, and in place of sending the MLS Office an Exclusive Right to Sell Agreement, they notify the MLS that the listing agent name should be modified to ‘Comparable Sale”. Seconded and approved.”  This will allow FSBO data to be included easily in searches and CMA’s but will not improperly credit non-representatives as the “selling agent” and correctly credit the “buyer’s agent”.  It will be clear to all that the sale was the result from a non-MLS listing.  Good data is the key to all of our success!
