Presenters:

Kelly Vieira

Kelly Vieira is a Clinical Fellow and the Director of Investigations and Outreach for Suffolk University Law School’s Housing Discrimination Testing Program (HDTP). In 2020, Attorney Vieira joined HDTP as part of a joint project with the City of Boston’s Office of Fair Housing & Equity. She completed a 100-test project focusing on race and source of income discrimination throughout the neighborhoods of Boston. In her current role, Attorney Vieira focuses on providing fair housing training, community outreach, and discrimination testing throughout Massachusetts. Prior to joining HDTP, Attorney Vieira served the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County. Attorney Vieira is a proud Suffolk Law alum who received her J.D. in 2019. In 2015, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at Tufts University.

Dexter Rowell

Dexter Rowell is a Clinical Fellow for Suffolk University Law School’s Housing Discrimination Testing Program (HDTP). Attorney Rowell joined HDTP as part of a joint project with the City of Boston’s Office of Fair Housing & Equity. In his current role, Dexter focuses on providing fair housing training, community outreach, and discrimination testing throughout the city of Boston. Before joining HDTP Dexter was a Staff Attorney in the Guardian ad Litem program with the Children’s Law Center in Washington, DC. Attorney Rowell represented children in abuse and neglect cases. Dexter has a background in education. He has previously done college access work for Posse DC and KIPP DC. While in law school Dexter served as a student practitioner in the Youth Advocacy Division of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, in Boston. While there he represented youth in the criminal legal system. Dexter was a legal intern with The EdLaw project, representing families in education law matters. Dexter also worked as a legal intern at the AIDS Action Committee where he assisted tenants facing eviction. In his final year of law school he spent time as a Law Clerk at Dain Torpy in Boston where he worked on commercial real estate matters.
