The ‘Housing Hero’ award provides a way for individuals in our community, not just our association, to be recognized and rewarded for their contribution in making Berkshire’s housing diverse, affordable, available, sustainable, safe, and/or healthy. The future of our community depends on filling this critical need and devoted service in this effort is so incredibly valuable. You should know the Housing Hero Award is not presented every year, but only when someone exceptional is nominated by our members as deserving our esteem and thanks.
This year we are proud to present this award to a special guest who was invited here tonight to receive this honor. Carolyn Valli!! Carolyn is the CEO at Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity who works round the clock in her tireless effort to improve the housing in the central region, and to raise the much needed funds through the innovative Habitat ReStore. Carolyn not only helps to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter, she is also a powerhouse in every housing conversation in the Berkshires. She does her research, understands the obstacles and works both hard and smart to overcome.
She has a great business sense with the ability to talk to and to inspire, city officials, neighborhood groups, business leaders, contactors, church groups, in other words people from all walks of life. Carolyn has a very collaborative style. She achieves superior results while utilizing the skills of team members so that all can share in the success. What makes her stand out from others is her unbridled enthusiasm and her ability to inspire those around her. We are proud to present this award in her honor, along with a check for her beloved Habitat for Humanity of Central Berkshire. congratulations Carolyn!
