The saga continues…. What you need to know in a nutshell: The Berkshire MLS has more time to negotiate strong, direct syndication agreements with Zillow and Trulia, to give you the best marketing options going forward. For those hearing Zillow and Trulia rumors, here’s an update. The Berkshire MLS Board has hired an expert data attorney and has been working on contract negotiations (as reported in February) with Zillow for direct syndication. We did this because ListHub will no longer syndicate to Zillow as of April 7th. Issues arose when Trulia and Zillow merged. The MLS Board pressed on, and included Trulia in our negotiations as the matter with went to court.
We were relieved to hear that at the ListHub / Trulia hearing today, the companies agreed that ListHub will provide a data feed to Trulia until April 7 — the same day that the Zillow syndication ends. So, for us, that means we have a little time to hammer out the agreement without worrying that your data feeds will be interrupted.
The MLS board has been meeting often on this topic and will update you again after their meeting on March 20th. If you have any concerns in the meantime, please email Sandy@BerkshireRealtors.org. Thank you!
