We would like to offer Laura Gasegu, the new associate legal counsel at the Massachusetts Association of REALTORS, a warm Berkshire welcome. You might be meeting Laura this year, either electronically from her work serving on the MAR Legal Hotline, or in-person at our annual legal event we offer each spring. She brings a bright new perspective as a recent grad from Suffolk Law School and we look forward to working with her in 2025. She can be reached at the MAR Legal Hotline 1-800-370-LEGAL or LegalHotline@MARealtor.com. I asked Laura to say hello the Berkshire REALTORS and share a little of her background, and here it is:
I graduated from Suffolk Law School in May 2024 and was recently admitted to the Massachusetts Bar Association. As a student, I had the privilege of serving as a 3:03 Certified Student Attorney in the Human Rights and Indigenous Peoples Clinic. This experience allowed me to practice law and provide counsel to a diverse clientele. Additionally, I participated as a tester in Suffolk Law’s Housing Discrimination Testing Program. Being a tester opened my eyes to the prevalence of discriminatory housing practices and ignited my passion for fair housing, as well as helped me develop a genuine appreciation for the Fair Housing Act. I am eager to bring together all my experiences and passions to my work at MAR and look forward to seeing what 2025 holds for the REALTOR community.
Welcome, Attorney Laura!
