Late last year, we shared an issue about crumbling foundations in CT and Pioneer Valley, due to the use of pyrrhotite contaminated concrete from a quarry in Stafford Springs Connecticut.  The Mass. legislative budget just included a reimbursement program for testing by a licensed engineer…. unfortunately, that assistance is only for homes within a 20 mile radius of J.J Mottes Concrete Company.  Our southern Berkshire communities are located just about 21+ miles away, making this funding unavailable to those in our region.  Maybe it’s not needed – that’s where your help comes in… do you know of any home with a crumbling foundation issue?  Please send the home’s location to Sandy so that we can gauge if lobbying for an amendment is needed.  Thank you.
