Looking at the preliminary numbers, inventory was down by 5% countywide; we have 712 homes currently on the market. Residential sales are slightly higher than 2018, with a 1% increase in the number of home sales and 4% increase in the dollar volume transacted. Berkshire Realtors transacted $506 million dollars of real estate in 2019, and paid cooperating brokers 13 million dollars for assisting buyers through their commitment to the MLS! Multifamily sales were booming in all parts of the Berkshires except for the southern region. Countywide land and commercial sales fell from 2018 sales rates. Condo sales increased in the # of units sold, but the dollar volume of sales and median sales prices fell. Currently the countywide median residential single-family home price is $220,000.
