The REALTOR of the Year award is given to a REALTOR® that best exemplifies professionalism and service to the industry. The recipient is someone who has contributed outstanding time and energy to the betterment of the REALTOR® organization, the real estate industry and our Berkshire community. The award criteria upon which nominees are judged include service to the REALTOR® organization on the local, state and national levels as well as service to the community.
We are pleased to present the 2022 Berkshire County REALTOR of the year award to Paula McLean. Paula has been an active volunteer member for many years and this year we looked at just 14 months of service to the association when granting this stellar award. In addition to attending most all local association and MLS Participant meetings and events held throughout the year, Paula serves on the Board of Directors of the Multiple Listing Service, Inc., a trustee of the Berkshire REALTORS Housing Fund, current volunteer and past chair of the Realtor Community Service, member of the Professional Standards Committee, Designated REALTOR Outreach Liaison, Strategic Planning Committee, town Monitor and Nominating Committee: Presidential Appointment. She earned the President’s Award for completing the Commitment to Excellence certification challenge, the Fairhaven Fair Housing Training Challenge, Contributing her fair share to the Political Advocacy Fund and making a contribution to the REALTOR Relief Foundation.
Paula has taken her leadership role very seriously and attended significant advanced training to prepare her for service, including Leadership Training, Fair Housing Training, Tribunal Training, Ombudsman Training, Town Monitor Training and CMLS Compliance training.
She is a member of the Massachusetts Chapter CRS and holds her CRS – Certified Residential Specialist designation, as well as the REBAC – Accredited Buyers Representative, RSPS – Resort and Second Home Property Specialist; ASP – Accredited Staging Professional and is a member of the NAR Employees Relocation Council.
Her contributions to the Berkshire community are equally significant. This year, Paula serves with great pride on the Board of Directors: Berkshire County Kids Place and Violence Prevention Center, 2022 and 2021 Jimmy’s Ride Supporter and Committee Member, 2021-22 Kids Place Building Committee Member, 2021-22 Kids Place Development Committee Member, Berkshire United Way , 1Berkshire Member, Lenox Chamber of Commerce Member and a firm sponsor for not only the REALTOR community service fundraisers but also the Jimmy’s Ride to End Child Abuse, April Child Abuse Prevention Month Sponsor and Kids Place 5K Sponsor to provide a safe space for abused children. She is a financial benefactor to more than a dozen Berkshire non-profits.
