In August, the Mass Senate approved a $929 million bond bill. Of that, $50 million was allocated for the Massachusetts Broadband Incentive Fund to get the un-served or under-served last mile established with high speed internet access. In September, there was a meeting of the Broadband groups in Western Mass that indicated an additional $70 million wold be needed from local towns for completion of last mile services.
