Fair Housing Mandate

As we begin a new 3 year cycle for the Code of Ethics Training, we thank all of those REALTORS who completed their mandatory requirement by the end of 2024 and are beginning a new 3 year cycle.  We applaud your dedication to your profession!  We also wanted to share a reminder that beginning this year, there is a second educational requirement that begins for REALTORS – the requirement to have 2 hours Fair Housing training as well as 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training.  Don’t worry, we will offer plenty of opportunities for you to satisfy this membership requirement while getting Mass CE Credit, but know that this will help YOU in 5 different ways:

  • Legal Compliance:
Complying with Fair Housing laws is mandatory, and the training helps agents understand the legal implications of discriminatory practices.

  • Consumer Protection:
By being well-versed in fair housing regulations, agents can actively prevent discriminatory actions that could harm potential buyers or renters.

  • Professionalism Enhancement:
The training elevates the professional image of Realtors by demonstrating a commitment to ethical practices and inclusivity.

  • Bias Awareness:
The training helps agents identify and address their own potential biases, leading to more equitable treatment of all clients.

  • Market Accessibility:
By promoting a fair housing market, the training ensures that everyone has equal access to housing options, regardless of their background.
