The Berkshire Good Neighbor Award is given to a REALTOR who has played an instrumental volunteer role in the success of any local civic, charitable, cultural, youth or school group project or program. The recipient is someone who has shown an extraordinary commitment to volunteer service that has helped make our community a better place to live. We are proud to honor Dani Giulian the 2025 Berkshire Good Neighbor Award recipient! Dani’s is with William Pitt Sotheby’s International Real Estate in Lenox, and her email for congratulations is: dgiulian@wpsir.com
What makes Dani a ‘REALTOR Good Neighbor’ according to the selection committee? A long history of giving back and involvement. Dani’s community service journey began in 2014, shortly after moving to the Berkshires. As a transplant to the area, she applied to the Berkshire Leadership Program to get to know her new home, meet local changemakers, and learn more about everything the region had to offer. What she didn’t expect was how that experience would spark a passion for service that has continued to grow ever since. She later joined the program’s Steering Committee, helping to select future participants and plan leadership sessions designed to inspire civic engagement across the county.
After becoming a mother in 2015, Dani received support from Berkshire Nursing Families (BNF), a nonprofit offering free infant feeding education and support to families throughout the Berkshires. That personal connection led her to join BNF’s fundraising committee, where she helped organize large-scale fundraising events, partnered with local businesses to host and sponsor them, and promoted both the events and BNF’s mission on local radio and TV. She played a key role in coordinating these efforts from planning through execution—all to ensure that families across the region could continue to access BNF’s vital services.
When her oldest son started kindergarten, Dani became actively involved in the Egremont Elementary School community and soon took on the role of PTO treasurer—a position she continues to hold. As an officer, she works closely with the rest of the PTO team to organize school and community events, lead fundraising initiatives, and partner with teachers and staff to understand what they need to help their classrooms—and their students—thrive. The PTO helps bring arts and enrichment programs into the school, supports field trips, and funds creative learning opportunities that enhance the student experience.
One of their most impactful contributions was helping bring a long-awaited new playground to life. Building on the work of prior PTO leaders, Danielle and her fellow board members raised the remaining funds and partnered with the Pittsfield Parks and Recreation Department, the playground company, and community volunteers to turn those playground dreams into a reality. Danielle was even part of the volunteer crew that helped assemble the playground her own children and their classmates now enjoy—a project that will benefit Egremont families for years to come. Her involvement reflects a deep belief in showing up, supporting others, and strengthening her school community from the inside out.
Since becoming a licensed REALTOR in 2019, Dani has steadily deepened her involvement within the Berkshire Board of Realtors. She began as a member of the Government Affairs Committee, which sparked a passion for understanding the inner workings of the industry and led to her current leadership role on the MLS Board. She has served as a MLS Director, Treasurer, and now as Vice President. In addition, she serves on the Contracts and Forms Committee, where she helps review and refine the documents and systems realtors rely on every day. Through these roles, She contributes to the decisions and processes that support her fellow agents in serving their clients professionally, efficiently, and at the highest level. She’s also a go-to volunteer for events like Habitat for Humanity Build Days, Thanksgiving Angels, and Berkshire REALTOR outreach initiatives—always one of the first to raise her hand.
Looking ahead, Dani hopes to continue finding meaningful ways to serve the community in ways that include her two young sons. She’s especially interested in getting involved in youth programs—both within schools and through local organizations—and staying active in the world of sports, mentorship, and future-forward community building.
When first told about her award, Dani was shocked… and said how she believes that being a good neighbor means showing up, giving back, and lifting others up along the way.
