The MLS has implemented MAJOR changes to our listing process as of May 1st. There are significant updates to our policies, and subsequent fines. These changes were prompted by the National Association of REALTORS requirement that all MLS’s update their rules to enforce Clear Cooperation between participating brokers and their agents. The major shift requires that all properties that are exclusively listed for sale by a Participant must be filed with the MLS Office within two (2) business days from the seller’s signature OR one (1) business day from the marketing of the listing, whichever comes first. Listings shall be submitted according to the submission requirements outlined in this policy. There are new rules governing marketing, coming soon listings, delayed listings and office exclusives. We have also reexamined our policy on entry into the MLS of listings that are not actually available for cooperation and compensation (already under agreement). Please view the training program, the rules and make sure you are prepared by May 1st to be governed by a new set of MLS rules.
