On Saturday, May 18, 2019, the AlfordLink Celebration was held in honor of those who helped to bring Gigabit fiber-optic internet services to their friends and neighbors in the town of Alford. The AlfordLink Project was founded as the Alford Broadband Committee in 2006, then later was changed to the Alford MLP (a.k.a. municipal lighting plant) before its final name, the AlfordLink Commission, was established in 2018. The AlfordLink committee members who participated in the project between 2006 and 2019, including our own Government Affairs Chairperson, Tom Doyle; were presented with a beautiful plaque to commemorate the occasion.
