April is Fair Housing Month, a time to reflect on our commitment to equal opportunity in housing and the vital role REALTORS® play in fostering inclusive communities. As trusted professionals, REALTORS® help guide clients through one of life’s most important decisions, and doing the right thing is at the heart of that work. Fair Housing Month is an opportunity to renew your dedication to providing equal service to all and ensuring every client feels respected, protected, and empowered.
Thank you for leading by example and helping move fair housing forward, this month and every month.
This month, MAR encourages you to:

2. Commemorate Fair Housing Month by downloading the Fair Housing Month Proclamation and asking your local government body to pass this proclamation supporting fair housing for all.

4. Attend Cultural Competencies with Dorothy Botsoe on April 9, 2025 at 10 AM at the Bank of Canton Corporate Headquarters in Canton, MA. Afterward, join the MAR YPN for a networking social at Trillium in Canton from 12–3 PM.
5. Register for Race for Profit, a Virtual Book Discussion on May 15, 2025 at 11 AM. Centered on the book Race for Profit by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, this discussion will explore the lasting effects of housing discrimination. The session will include a book overview, an open discussion, and a Q&A. All are welcome to join and engage in this timely dialogue.

7. Step into NAR’s dynamic online simulation where you’ll tackle real-world fair housing challenges through realistic scenarios, practical insights, and historical context. Fairhaven 2.0 covers key topics like steering, bias, disability accommodations, and how to stand up for clients facing discrimination.
