Some good news to share out of Capitol Hill (kinda). The House passed a bill this afternoon to authorize the National Flood Insurance Program before it expired at midnight tomorrow! But, the passage is through June 14th, solely to prevent the program from lapsing. The measure, S. 1693, will now be sent to the White House for President Trump’s signature. Once Congress returns from recess on Monday, the House is expected to clear the disaster aid package, H.R. 2157, that will extend the flood insurance program for an additional four months through September 30th. We may be reaching out with a plea to respond to a call to action if there appears any resistance, so keep posted!
