MLS Report: Billing Policy Change

As our new MLS billing practice has rolled out (credit card placed on file for auto payments), the MLS Board has been keeping an eye on how things have been going.  At their meeting on August 7th, the directors unanimously voted to institute a collection policy for declined credit cards.  As such, effective immediately, staff will institute the following procedural change:

When a card declines, the member will be notified via an email and given an opportunity remedy the situation.  There will be no fee assessment for this first offense.  If a card is declined for the second time in the same calendar year, the member will be notified via email, given the opportunity to remedy the situation and will be assessed a $25 administrative fee.  Should a card decline for the third time in the same calendar year, the member will be notified by email and will be required to pay the remainder of MLS fees through year’s end.

If a member is a repeat offender in the following calendar year, the member will be required to prepay one year in advance, and will be required to continue prepaying for services at the beginning of each year that membership in the MLS remains active.

Should you have any questions about this policy change, please feel free to contact the Board Office.  Thank you!
