Meet Your 2020 President: Eric Steuernagle

Eric Steuernagle, 2020 President

Eric Steuernagle first joined the Berkshire County Board of Realtors in 2007 and was an active volunteer serving the association since that time.  He has a passion for professionalism in our industry and making the market work efficiently for clients represented by Berkshire REALTOR members.  He began taking leadership roles on the Professional Standards and Real Estate Contract and forms Committee in 2014. He joined the Board of Directors in 2015, after he was elected for two terms as Director, and in 2018 Secretary/Treasurer.  In 2019, he ascended to Vice Presidency and was elected 2020 President at the Annual Meeting. He is active as a Town Monitor for Great Barrington, and is a trained Ombudsman seeking to resolve consumer and Realtor disputes.  Throughout his tenure on the Board of Realtors, he has served in critical capacities such as Finance, Audit and Investment Committee, Personnel, Strategic Planning and Charitable Service.

>> Meet the entire 2020 Leadership Team

His priority this year is making sure Berkshire Realtors, and especially the broker-owners who are responsible for all agents, have the tools and education needed to excel on behalf of their clients.  He has been working with the board and volunteers to launch new education and services for Designated REALTORS and has issued a challenge to all REALTOR members to obtain their Commitment To Excellence endorsement from the National Association of REALTORS.  This program allows Realtors to measure their proficiency in the 11 elements of professionalism, known as the C2EX Competencies. Based on the results, the platform will generate customized learning paths, recommend experiences, and provide tools and resources to increase knowledge and enhance skill-sets.  He has also issued a challenge that 100% of his board members complete this program to lead the way.

In 2019, Eric was named Berkshire REALTOR’s Good Neighbor Award Recipient for his devotion to our community.  Eric can be found contributing organization skills, energy and enthusiasm for the success of the Breaking Bread Kitchen and Pantry, working out of the American Legion in Sheffield.  The Breaking Bread dinner and pantry is sponsored by community groups on a rotating basis. Realtors across agencies come together to sponsor a dinner every 6 weeks, and Eric is responsible to coordinate volunteers, plan the menu, and invite everyone to get involved!  He also excels in coaching of youth sports, and is involved in the REALTOR’s community service fundraisers and projects.

He is broker-owner of Fairground Real Estate in Great Barrington, where he has been a resident for over 18 years. He is a licensed contractor as well as a broker.  Eric is very family-oriented and especially enjoys spending time with his three daughters and wife Julie. With such a busy family life, why does he volunteer and give back? That’sWhoWeR!
