Fundraiser for Parkinson’s Disease Research in honor of REALTOR

Today, we pass along a request from Kimberly Farnen, daughter of long-time member Dick Krznowek of Isgood Realty.  She is running the NYC Marathon to raise funds for Parkinson’s disease research in honor of her dad.  Dick was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease seventeen years ago and bravely battles this disease everyday.  She is dedicating her efforts to help raise awareness and ultimately shorten the road to a cure.  To make a tax-deductible donation in honor of our colleague, please go directly to Kimberly’s page on the Fox Foundation website.

Over five million people worldwide are living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) — a chronic degenerative neurological disorder whose symptoms typically progress from mild tremors to complete physical incapacitation. In the United States, 60,000 new cases of PD will be diagnosed this year alone. While the average age of onset is 60, an estimated five to 10 percent of people with PD experience onset at age 40 or younger. There is no known cure.  The Board welcomes the opportunity to announce the cause and fundraising options for our member’s charitable causes.
