Throughout Massachusetts, there are a number of communities that are attempting to address the issue of elevated levels of PFAS in drinking water. Do you know of one in Berkshire County? If so, on May 20th, the Baker-Polito Administration announced a new funding opportunity to support public water systems in addressing elevated levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water. The new $2 million grant program, managed by the MassDEP will provide up to in total funding for expenses related to the design and planning of treatment systems that protect drinking water against PFAS. Realtors and Town Monitors should take this opportunity to work with towards addressing this issue.
