Town Monitor Program of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors.

Volunteer to Help Us Stay Informed on Your Town

Housing Advocacy Chair Jessie Downer has worked with her committee invites you to be a part of the Town Monitor program. Town Monitors help keep us informed about proposed bylaws, zoning changes, housing policies, private property issues and other municipal decisions that could affect real estate and our communities. You don’t need to be a policy expert. You’re simply our eyes and ears in your town. See or hear something we should know about? Send it our way. From there, the Board and Government Affairs Committee do the research and determine next steps.

Part of the new method is having an appointed Liaison coordinate each region – a REALTOR who will help communicate, guide and engage with town monitors – and these leaders are: Peter West (North), Mary Jane White (Middle) and Eric Steuernagle (South).  Please reach out to any one of them to volunteer and/or discuss, or connect with Jessie Downer or Sandy Carroll with general questions.

It’s an easy way to get involved, build relationships with local leaders and help REALTORS® have a stronger voice in the communities we serve.

Civic engagement is good for business — and good for our communities.
