What is Multi-Factor Authentication and why are you being asked to turn it on all the time?  It’s a secondary way to confirm your identity beyond a typed in user name and password.  If you’re hacked, this can be a lifesaver! A MFA, as it’s called, requires a text message, phone call, phone code or email sent to information already held on file in the account.  As Realtors, you are aware first hand about the dangers of cyber fraud and hacked credit cards and email accounts.  MFA can be a pain (where’s my phone?!) but it offers an extra level of security that can give you more peace of mind.  When you have a chance, turn it on! Bank accounts, MLS, email, etc.  Lock it down to prevent theft.

In FlexMLS we ask you to turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). To do so, simply log in and navigate to the Menu > My Profile > Security. Under the Multi-Factor Authentication section, click Enable, confirm your password, and choose to receive security codes via a mobile authenticator app or text message. Done! We are all one step safer!
