Reminder: Protecting your Client’s Confidential Information

Last year we posted about protecting your client’s confidential information when emailing cooperating brokers copies of deposit checks.  WISP regulations go way beyond this basic protection but definitely include the need to redact (black out) the bank information on copies of checks being emailed to cooperating brokers and/or kept in files in the office.  This simple, 20-second process, can save you and your client a lot of heartache down the road.

As a timely reminder, please read here for an article posted about data security.  And here for information about WISP regulations.
