Berkshire Volunteers Are New Mediators in Massachusetts

After two days of intensive, hands-on training from MetroWest Mediation Services and the Massachusetts Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee, two Berkshire volunteers, Pamela Roberts and Debbie Dwyer, obtained their certification to mediate code of ethics complaints and real estate business disputes before Arbitration throughout the state of Massachusetts.

The training was structured around an effective two-person mediation process, including key characteristics of a successful mediator, building trust, active listening, dealing with emotions, reframing statements, ethics standards, bias awareness, ethical dilemmas and much more. These skills will add a valuable component to our local process when we attempt to amicably resolve disputes to the satisfaction of both parties before a hearing is held.

Pamela Roberts of Roberts and Associates Realty and Debbie Dwyer of The Dwyer Agency join the ranks of previously trained Berkshire Mediators, Nancy Kalodner, Sherry Street, Jeff Rose, Shepley Evans and Barbara Osborne.
